BAMMA 3

That's right, Tweet MMA will be there!

After giving away some BAMMA 3 tickets through some good ol' competition fun (well poking some fun at our good friend Michael Pepper) via the Twitter (http://twitter.com/TweetMMA) we're getting excited as we'll be covering it live.

Alex Reid off the card but that makes zero impact as far as the potential for quality fights come Saturday the 15th May 2010, in fact with Matt Horwich replacing him, it could only make for a higher quality event.

See you there folks.

What is a 'Cajina'?

Cajina (ca-ji-na) n.

Meaning: Casual Vagina – A person who is a casual fan but acts like they are hardcore and at times showing their 'cajina'. E.g. "My favourite sport is UFC." – That’s cajina talk.

It’s a more powerful word than 'newb' or 'rookie' and we’re gonna make it very MMA orientated. It's a word we've created so use it all you like...

Should the idea of 'retiring' In MMA be retired?

Should the idea of 'retiring' In MMA be retired?

This isn't a full on entry in the blog, more of a food for thought entry...

The idea of retiring in any sport has always been down to a number of factors such as age, decrease in talent, lack of relevance, other opportunities etc...

In a sport that consistently grows year by year on the back of talent, excitement and great fights should the concept behind a premature or sometimes downright fake retirement be put to rest?

Now Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson is the latest to join the list of fighters that have decided to retire for one reason or another.

I'm personally bored of hearing of retirements set-up purely to make a 'comeback' seem all the more intriguing.

For the casual fan, surely the UFC Hype Train can build that excitement and intrigue with marketing such as the Countdown shows and such.

For the hardcore or more educated MMA fan, i find it somewhat of a joke that we're expected to believe in a gimmick that only really works with pro-wrestling.

Just a thought...

Tito 'The Mouth' Ortiz

It appears that upon return to the UFC Tito is trying to create as much attention as possible before he's even stepped inside the octogon.

Just before Him and Dana kissed and made up Tito was shouting his mouth off at the likes of Fedor, Vitor Belfort, Anderson Silva and others.

After news broke out about his upcoming clash with UFC veteran Mark Coleman at UFC 106, the Huntington Beach Bad Boy has unleashed a war of words with a who's who of UFC fighters including Anderson Silva (again) claiming that the Middleweight Champ should stay at Middleweight.

Also Tito had no problem calling out Lyoto Machida claiming that the now Light Heavyweight Champion of the world is a "p*ssy" and was scared to fight Tito in their bout (which Tito lost) at UFC 84.

A lot of Tito's attention is quite clearly focused on creating hype and doing what he does best, bringing in those PPV numbers.

I'd like to see him get that all important win first before calling out pound for pound greats.

Tito Ortiz Vs Mark Coleman is set to take place at UFC 106 on November 21st in Las Vegas, Nevada.
